This electrical related instruction (RTI) is in accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Office of Apprenticeship. The course presents technical instruction for the trade and is intended to complement on-the-job learning. If a student is not working in the occupation, they are still eligible to enroll in the course. The school will provide job leads when available, but it is the student's responsibility to have an employer to sponsor and register them as an apprentice with the USDOL Office of Apprenticeship. Electrical is four-year apprenticeship and an apprentice must complete: • 8,000 Hours (4 years) Structured On-the-Job Learning • 576 Hours (144 hours minimum per year) Related Technical Instruction Classroom instruction consists of safety, trade mathematics, fundamentals of power distribution and electricity, residential, industrial, and commercial wiring requirements, motors & controls, and National Electrical Code requirements. This 150-hour one year course consists of 2 semesters beginning in September and completing in early spring. It is a hybrid program with some sessions in-person on-site and some online assignments. Students are required to have internet access to participate and/or complete online assignments. Tuition does not include textbooks.
