Phlebotomy

Description

This course provides students with the skills to collect and prepare blood samples using proper techniques and procedures. Program includes theory, skills training and clinical practice in a blood-drawing facility to meet ASPT certification requirements. Skills training will include using a practice arm and drawing on each other. Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) certification exam. Classroom: 60 hours Clinical: 4 day clinical week (Mon-Thur 8 am - 4 pm) at a local medical facility. Clinical hours are scheduled by the instructor and will be provided to students by the 2nd week of class. *All students must provide proof of immunizations and complete the mandatory Clinical Site Orientation prior to participating in a clinical. A passing grade in this course is required to participate in clinical. Textbook is included in tuition. ASPT Certification exam fee is a separate fee and not included in tuition price. Tuesdays (in-person) & Thursdays (virtual) The first 2 weeks of class are in-person, hybrid model starts week of October 3rd. No classes on - November 23, 2023 November 30, 2023
