Electrical Year I - Apprenticeship Related Technical Instruction (RTI) This course meets U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Office of Apprenticeship standards and complements on-the-job learning. Important clarification: The Adult & Continuing Education does not offer an electrical apprenticeship program. We provide Related Technical Instruction (RTI) coursework only. Only an employer may sponsor and register you in a USDOL approved apprenticeship program. Year 1 Course Overview Safety & trade math Power distribution & electricity basics Residential, commercial & industrial wiring Motors, controls & National Electrical Code Textbooks: Students must purchase the required textbook at Mike Holt. To purchase copy and paste this link https://www.mikeholt.com/productitem.php?id=2810 Schedule September through March/April Hybrid format consists of 50 class sessions, 2 nights per week Week 1: In-person Monday & Wednesday, 6:00 - 9:00 PM After Week 1: In-person Monday, 6:00 - 9:00 PM Take-home assignments. These assignments are equivalent to a class session. No Class: Dec. 8–31, 2025 Virtual Only: Jan. 19 & Feb. 16, 2026 Internet access required for online components.
