CDL Class A - Tractor Trailer

Description

In partnership with Superior Driving School (SDS) located in Toms River, NJ, this program provides the knowledge through classroom instruction held at HCVSD and practical training held at SDS so individuals can pursue a career as a tractor-trailer driver. Training begins with theory offered at HCVSD by covering general knowledge, Hazmat, Tankers, Doubles & Triples and components of a truck – like air brakes and transmission. Theory Class Location & Schedule: • Location: HCVSD, Bartles Campus, 8 Bartles Corner Road, Flemington, NJ 08822 • Dates: November 14, 2024 - December12, 2023 Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm Upon completion of theory, students are required to take and PASS the written CDL Class A exam at a NJ Motor Vehicle Agency to obtain a CDL permit. Once a student has their CDL permit, then they will schedule with SDS the mandatory yard and road portion of the course. Yard and Road Training Location & Schedule: • Location: SDS, 2834 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ 08731 • Dates: January 4, 2024 and completed by April 30, 2024 Tuesday & Thursday, 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm The actual yard and road training dates will be determined during the sign up of the course. Upon successful completion of the yard and road training, students will be required to take a road test at NJ Motor Vehicle testing center coordinated by SDS. Upon registration, you will be emailed a SDS Student Application and contact information regarding program requirements. Program Requirements: • Must be 18 years of age with a non-provisional driver’s license (must be 21 years of age to drive CDL Class A outside of NJ) • D.O.T. Physical (Information is provided by SDS. • Hazmat Fingerprint Process • Complete the SDS Student Application Packet and submit application to SDS a minimum of 2 weeks prior to theory class start date. Tuition: • Total Course Tuition: $3,900 (includes HCVSD & SDS deposits) does not include NJ Motor Vehicle permit fee, DOT Physical, and Hazmat Fingerprinting. • HCVSD Enrollment Deposit: $300 (due at time of online enrollment) • SDS Deposit: $200 (Made payable to SDS) • SDS Yard and Road Training: $3400.
