HEO/CCL Apprenticeship Related Technical Instruction (RTI) This course provides the second year of classroom instruction for heavy equipment operator/construction craft laborer apprenticeship. Instruction aligns with U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Office of Apprenticeship standards and supports on-the-job training. IMPORTANT Adult & Continuing Education provides Related Technical Instruction (RTI) only. We not do offer apprenticeship sponsorship or employment placement. YEAR II COURSE TOPICS Jobsite Safety & Trade Math Reading and Interpreting Drawings Soil Characteristics Grade Planning Identification of Equipment REQUIRED TEXTBOOK NCCER Heavy Equipment Operations, Level 2, Fourth Edition PROGRAM SCHEDULE September through March Hybrid format consists of 50 sessions Week 1: In-person Monday & Wednesday, 6 - 9 PM After Week 1: In-person Monday, 6 - 9 PM Virtual Wednesday No Class December 21, 2026 - December 30, 2026 Virtual Class - No In-person September 21, 2026 January 18, 2027 February 15, 2027 Students must have reliable computer and internet access to participate in the online portions of the course.
